1- Ball fields
Only parks that offer a secured parking area will be used. Most of them will have gates set up and a volunteer will be securing the area with a ticketing system. The secured area will be opened one hour prior to the first game until 30 minutes after the last game of each day. It will be marked in the tournament program to advise the teams and fans where to park.

2- Hotels
Less hotels will be available to the teams. Hotels with a gate system will be prioritized. A guard will be securing the parkings overnight and in some cases, 24 hours a day.

3- Sightseeing in Montreal
Although there have not been many incidents reported while sightseeing, we still recommend that you bring with you a Club bar or similar security device simply to dissuade possible threats on your vehicle.

Important notice : Security device such as Lo-Jack (USA) and Boomerang (Canada) are not working cross border. These companies are currently working to upgrade their technology but the old analog device of Lo-Jack will not be working in Canada. We recommend that you verify with your Lo-Jack dealer to confirm.

In 2007, 6 cars have been stolen at either hotels or ball fields. About the same amount were forced into which lead us to believe that the tournament had been targeted.

The Montreal International Fastpitch Challenge took this threat seriously and some safety measures have been put in place as of the 2008 edition. We are happy to say that not a single incident has been reported in our 2008 and 2009 editions and the tournament will follow these safety measures for now on. Safety of the participants and fans is a priority.
